As a combined operator, performing licensed activities of natural gas transmission and storage, Bulgartransgaz EAD operates and develops the gas transmission infrastructure in the country. In compliance with the legal requirements for these activities, the gas transmission system operator is obliged to develop it in line with long-term forecasts and plans for the development of gas supply and beyond, when it is economically justifiable.
Within the period July 21 - August 21, 2017, Bulgartransgaz EAD initiated a market study on the demand for incremental (new) capacity, Open Season, Phase 1 (non-binding forecasts on the demand for incremental capacity to/from neighbouring market areas) of projects for development and expansion of the gas transmission infrastructure to all neighbouring market areas. As a result of the nominations received, the potential new projects were determined at the pre-investment stage, as well as the new and existing cross-border points for which there is demand for incremental capacity and their forecast incremental capacities in flow forward direction.
In this regard, Bulgartransgaz EAD informs its current and potential users of the launch of Phase 2 of the Open Season procedure and the possibility to submit their non-binding offers for incremental capacity for the respective cross-border points or other cross-border points.
